That is one of my favorite Chris Rock bits.

A 16-year-old defensive driver hasn't done anything wrong, either. But insurance companies will charge him 5 times what a married 50-year-old woman will pay . . . because of the actions of other 16-year-olds.

It's not fair. But it is life. We pay for the actions of others.

Wow, what a fucking leap you made there, from snarking on Fenian's point of view to making me the terrible, pathetic individual. You need to take a big swig of go fuck yourself, because you don't know me, you don't know anything about me, and you're not at all qualified to judge me. And as a matter of fact, the first thing I did when I heard about VT was pray. Of course, you probably think I have some liberal God who doesn't have the same power as yours, but then again, you're a deluded, pathetic, useless piece of trash, at least when you come on this board. Have a nice fucking day, asshole.

But he's not kept totally off the roads. I'll pay higher insurance premiums or carry extra liability insurance to own a gun.

MADD says somebody dies due to a drunk driver every 30 minutes in the US. Why don't we put breathalyzer locks on all cars in the USA to stop this?

OK, so how long is the waiting period in Virginia because NBC is saying he bought the .22 on 4/13 with the 9mm being bought on 3/13 in Roanoke?

Try again. New York has one of the lowest numbers around.

Fine by me. As a Diet Pepsi drinker, it wouldn't bother me if they made it so all four tires would automatically deflate if you failed the breathalyzer.

Although I suppose it wouldn't stop people from drinking once they entered the car.

Windu, with all honesty, I don't know you either, but your bitterness is running down the crease between my screen's glass and the frame it sits in. Take a long look at that.

Sorry. Mert gets a little angry at people who like to casually throw around terms such as "raghead," which Yawn has done several times.

There are plenty of people out there who do a great job as parents, but we've allowed our children to be inundated by trash and filth. It's everywhere they turn and we've done nothing about it. Why are we surprised when they grow up to be train wrecks? Some day we'll wake up and realize something has to be done; I hope that day is sooner rather than later.

Because there are more guns, maybe?

Toronto's a city of 5 million. I think last year there were around 55 homicides which is an actual decrease over the past 10 years.

Part of the concern is that more and more of these homicides are gun-related.

And guess where the guns come from?

    The United States.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that ridiculously easy access to guns has a hand in the marked difference between Canada's homicide rates and the United States.

BTW, you can own hunting rifles etc up here but handguns? Pretty much not at all.
