My store has already been getting spring stuff in since the start of the month. (More late winter promos than hardcore spring, but that is coming soon enough.) We still have to store it and it's a pain. Lots of "spring cleaning" stuff like totes, brooms, mops, laundry detergent, Brawny towels, etc.

I'm in the market for a commercial-grade mop bucket with a wringer and I regret not snapping one up last time.

I don't let any commercialism ruin Christmas for me. I don't think it ever could, because I do keep in mind the reason for the season, and, the week of Christmas, I usually really feel it. That was particularly true last night at church, when the worship music, combined with some traditional Christmas music, hit me hard and I was practically shaken with emotion.

Oftentimes, all I have to do is look back on the year to see and re-experience any blessings that occurred. This year, I feel blessed to be alive, truly, after going through a work-related act of violence, and, over time, I have learned to appreciate my family and friends more and more every day.

That goes for even the anonymous ones on here. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Reminds me of when my boys thought the box was more fun than the gift inside.

Happy Boxing Day from Down Under. Having the Christmas season while the days are getting longer and warmer is almost as weird as driving on the left.

This is where I'm at, certainly in the last six years since we lost my sister and her family. Appreciate and love all. You never know.

    Merry Christmas, my friends.

A year ago, gifted the college girl with tickets for her and her two roommates to see Lizzy McAlpine in NYC.

This year, Laufey in Radio City in May. I've been the cool dad for a bit and glad to keep the mantle for another season.

EDIT: The Kid to her friends, all fellow musical theatre kids, in the past: "My dad likes his music, but he always gives my stuff a try."

If she remembers that forever, I'll be happy.

We’re way too Scottish for that to be anything but disappointing for him.

Our daughter is 4 1/2 and our son is 1, and to see her excitement at seeing the crumbs from the Oreos on the plate in front of the fireplace and her amazement at the stockings was something I’ll never forget. Guess I need to vacuum the night before because it was a lot more dusty than I remember in the house.

Two years ago I digitized our 8mm home movies. While it is priceless to see 1979 me and my brother jumping for joy over Tonka trucks and the Fast 111s board game, I do wish we had sound on them. We are fortunate to be able to reach into our pocket, pull out our phones and record these moments so quickly.

Merry Christmas/Season’s Greetings to all of you. I don’t know any of you in person, but being a part of this board for 20+ years has definitely been a fun and interesting way to spend a few minutes each day and continues to do so.
