Cripes Hockeybeat, please tell me how I'm "crying." Pointing out an opinion? That's crying? My opinion is that Italy is an underserving champion. The fact to support that is their style was bullshit. I never recalled the 1990 or 1994 teams acting that way, even the 1982 team. Those teams were easy to root for and I did. I was nearly in tears when Sergio Goycochea denied Donadoni and some other dude in the 1990 shootout, and the same thing in 1994 when Roberto, Baresi and Co., fell to Brazil. This Italian team has ruined the reputation of a soccer nation that many people used to repsect and root for.

So Italy tied the U.S. You know the Royals, at some point, beat the White Sox in 2005, the Red Sox in 2004 ... you see where I'm going with this?

Italy beat Germany in Berlin -- the first team to ever do so -- 2-0 to advance to the finals. How did France get to the finals? A flop in the penalty box for the only goal scored. Yeah, Italy got one against the Aussies, but don't even act like France didn't do the same thing.

Apples to oranges when comparing baseball to soccer. And I never said the USA was better. I simply said they outplayed Italy. Inferior teams can outplay superior teams. Witness Italy/Germany. Italy outplayed Germany and deserved to win. The USA outplayed Italy and would have deserved a win had they won.

I don't know if Germany has ever lost in Berlin, but Italy didn't beat Germany there. You're thinking of Dortmund.

Finally, when did France do the same thing as Italy did against Australia? Against Portugal? While not much of a foul, that guy did whack Henry.
