I skipped through some of the last posts because I'm going to read up on the actual history after the finale tonight.

I think it's better than okay so far. It's hard to follow because the extended family is so big, but I think I'm following it alright.

Tom Berenger, Lindsay Pulsipher and Mare Winningham pretty good, but I love Jenna Malone's work. I'll watch anything she's in.

Henry Fonda and Michael Douglas are U.S. Presidents!

George C. Scott is Gen. Patton!

    Gary Cooper is Lou Gehrig!

Marlon Brando is a Mafia chief!

    What's your point?

I thought the second half of episode 2 was kinda slow. There was a good buildup to the three killings, but then it started wandering. Not enough to be disappointing, but I was just wanting it to move along.

They're fairer (on the televised transactions) than the family from Hardcore Porn [/jimnantz]

Actually, they were. They'd been hired to provide the music for the party.

The trouble started when someone heard they were on "Bang" Records and their leader's name was Rick Derringer. Someone yelled "GUN!!!!" and it was all downhill from there. :(

Interesting that the miniseries (which was 30 years in the making and originally was to star Burt Lancaster in the Costner role) was filmed in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania, in Romania.

"When we're losing jobs in America, that's the question: Why are we here (in eastern Europe)?" said Costner, who notes tax breaks and incentives helped keep production costs down. "We could not have effectively shot this quintessential American story in America."

Seems kinda fitting, since they film vampire movies in America.

Hillbilly vampires? I'd love to pitch a new show to CMT.

I hadn't yet looked to see where it was filmed, but I knew it wasn't filmed in the Appalachian Mountains. For those of us who live there, the terrain is instantly recognizable, and that ain't it.

    Still love Tin Cup . . . but . . . ball/stick.

    I, for one . . . do not despise Eastwood, but he's almost-certainly a better director than an actor . . .

I saw this on Wiki, from an MSNBC special:

I love it when all this all this silly science comes along and has a rational explanation for these things.
