Yeah, religious nut punishing himself for having impure thoughts.

Nucky's regular chick: I don't care how freaky she can get, that pouty slow talking dim-witted shit makes her about as unattractive as humanly possible.

Gretchen Mol: If she was on top of it in Rounders like she was in the sex scene this week, Matt Damon wouldn't have been out playing cards.

    Agree on all points.

Wanted to add that the revenge scene on Sheridan and his men was like something right out of "The Godfather" with all the tension from the moment Jimmy and Capone walked in the door.

Finally caught up. Generally love it, but it drags a little here and there. Not sure where they are going, but I expect the plotline to become more focused.

The biggest flaw is that Buscemi, while a terrific nuanced actor, simply doesn't have the forceful personality and inherent sense of danger to be a criminal boss. Also, the relationship with his valet borders on comedy..

The actor who plays Jimmy is a revelation. Certain of the lessers roles are great -- Margaret and Capone especially. Chalky, Mol, Lucky and AR as well . Eli and Van Alden are far more broadly played and detract.

Probably would have been better as 2 hour movie. As weekly just seems to drag and not really go anywhere.

They know how to set up a scene, though. Almost every episode has one great scene that is beautifully set up...like Jimmy's revenge on the guy who slashed his girlfriend.
Chalky and the Klansman a few episodes back...Tarantino would be proud.
And now that Margaret's son has seen "Uncle Nucky" do something criminal...

    I haven't missed an episode.

Agent Van Alden needs to go.

Van Alden is just a brilliant character....although this show is full of brilliant characters. I'm going to be crushed when the season ends.
