One of my all-time favorites was in the Chicago Tribune the morning after the Bartman game:

    "The mitt hits the fan"

The NY Post when Manuel compared Mets fans to fertilizer:

    "S#%t hits the fans"

I think "Ford to City: Drop Dead" is a Hall of Famer, for sure.

After Ike Turner died, the NY Post hit one out of the park "Ike beats Tina to death"

From the Northern Arizona student paper about the Lumberjack women's basketball team playing well at the beginning of the season:

"Lady Jacks off to good start"

I believe Philly Daily News had a "Life's a Mitch" head after one of Williams' meltdowns cost the team a game in the early 90s.

Nice photo next to the headline too. The two work nicely together.

Am I the only one who thought she looked like Linda Cardinelli, circa Freaks and Geeks?

    Absolute winner.

British tabloid The Sun has had a few good ones, but none was more influential than this one.

Kinnock lost, the deeply unpopular Conservative Party won, and it ushered in the dawn of Tony Blair and the "New" Labour Party.

This one might be apocryphal, but it supposedly appeared in a tabloid story about an inmate escaping from an asylum and, while at-large, raped a woman:

    Nut
    bolts
    and
    screws
