Is it true or somewhat apocryphal that if Al had leaned the other way in the booth during the quake, they all would have fallen to their deaths?

We could have a thread of most memorable game calls by a living announcer NOT named Al Michaels and I don't think the thread would get to a second page.

I'm a little unsure of what hill you're trying to die on here.

Is it your stance that Al is a run-of-the-mill hack announcer, who has lucked into being at the right place at the right time, like Forrest Gump?

We all are free that whole month, right? QPC, apple pies. Lots of large fries.

At age 9, that was a time in life where every summer day was a Cubs game on WGN and leaving by the 4th inning to get to the neighborhood pool. (I can still hear “Magic” by The Cars playing).

SO much free McDonalds that month.

Mattress Mack kicked in $50k, and the USOC is going to give her money from its relief fund.

They still had those at least up until Covid! More recently, they were given to the affiliates to show whenever instead of scheduled in prime time. My local ABC and NBC stations used them as counter-programming to the opening weekend of the NFL.

Maybe we can get Al to check on her.
