  1. Kalifornia is exactly the role when I realized the guy could act. Also pretty funny in Snatch. He's got a lot of range.

Of that group I went with Sean Penn and Denzel Washington.

I've got some issues with the group on this thread. You've got guys in their late 40s, early 50s (Penn, Denzel, Clooney). Guys in their late 30s, early 40s (Depp, Cruise) and guys in their early 30s (DiCaprio, Damon). I think of Sean Penn and Denzel as the guys DiCaprio and Damon look up to and try to emulate. It seems like we're asking who's the best of the next generation, but asking it of several different generations.

Bruce Campbell has more acting chops than any two guys on that list, and its not even close

  6. I'd toss Daniel Day-Lewis in there too, if he wasn't off making shoes now.
And for pure acting chops, Spacey's gotta be on the list. The guy's the artistic director of the Old Vic, for god's sake.

It could be somewhat of a stretch, but Vince Vaughn.
While, he doesn't often display the depth in his characters, he's got a good range of character and can play serious and comedy...

    OK< it's a stretch.

I don't think it's that much of a stretch. He did an admirable job in the Psycho remake. If I knew how his career would turn out back then, I would have never believed it for a moment.
