If Claire's blood is what saves Nathan, I agree with you....to a point. But I'll still be watching.

And yes, I'm assuming Nathan will somehow survive. Hell, I keep catching myself waiting for DL to show back up. Not because I care that much about the character (that whole branch can just disappear for all I care), but just because I don't trust people to stay dead.

Still, I'm glad Bennett, Hiro and Peter are still around. I just enjoy the characters. Even Hiro has grown on me, though you'd think he would have post-concussion syndrome by now.

Oh, and as far as the blood...you might want to watch the rest of the episode. I'm betting you won't like what you missed.

Now that it's in the books, I can say that season did very little for me. Too many storylines I didn't give a shit about and that they never did anything to tie in with the others.

Niki, Mikah, DL and Monica had nothing to do with anything and their storyline wasn't interesting. They could have chopped that whole thing out of it and I wouldn't have noticed.

Good god, get rid of the Wonder Twins already.

Sylar's back! BFD. He's been back all season, supposedly more menacing than he was before and, yet, he didn't have his powers. They never explained how he came back from getting stabbed with a samurai sword, nor why the hell he was hundreds of miles deep in the jungle. It took less than an episode for him to walk out of there, too.

I must have missed an episode that explained what happened with Parkman's father who was terrorizing Molly, but even so, I thought he should have remained the main villain of the season. They could have done a lot with that character. Instead, they wrapped up his involvement in one episode, which I apparently missed.

At the end, it just felt like nothing really happened. Rather than focusing on villains, the big moment was stopping a vial of some virus from hitting the floor. Most of the season, you had no idea who or what the Heroes had to stop. First, it appeared they'd have to stop Sylar again. They guy with the eyes. Then the company. Then the virus. It never built to a climax.

It just left me feeling like, "That's it?"

I'll check out next season, but so far, Heroes is batting .500. They're going to have to get their average up if I'm going to stick around beyond next season.

Also, I'm not sure how much the writer's strike had to do with it, but this season was very choppy. It was like they weren't able to devote enough time to any one storyline (Bennett back in one episode, Sylar escaping the jungle in one episode, etc.), so it was wholly unsatisfying when the Heroes came out on top.

I know they planned to have the volume wrapped up before hiatus, but it seemed like they had to abbreviate it more than they planned. Also, they really should go back to a full 22 episodes for a volume. Give them time to flesh out the new characters so we might care about them and develop a plotline that builds to a conclusion.

bigpern, I think part of this was planned and part was shortened due to the strike. They were always planning on having two volumes make up this season. If you notice, Volume 3 is called "Villains," so maybe that will help with a focus on the bad-guys.

I didn't dislike Volume 2 as much as some people did, but it definitely was not on the same level as Volume 1.

On a few of your points, bigpern...

Although they never showed it, they said Sylar was saved by the Company. They took him to the place in the jungle for safekeeping, and probably used the same power-inhibiting drugs they used on Peter to keep him in check. Now, how he made it out of the jungle in one day is a mystery. Maybe it wasn't a deep jungle. More like a greenhouse. However big it was, you could definitely fit a plot hole in it.

I agree on Parkman's dad. Instead of just a plot device to increase Parkman's powers, he could have been a big-time villain. A guy who can not only read and control minds, but who's a scumbag and doesn't mind doing it? Maybe he'll get out of his own head at some point and be even more evil for it.

And I liked what Hiro did with Adam at the end. He's showing a little of the hard-edged, badass side that he displayed in the Five Years Forward story. I love the way his character has progressed from the wide-eyed kid who couldn't wait to use his powers, to someone who is starting to realize the consequences and responsibilites of having them. Definitely the best character on the show.

Agreed on Hiro. He really has grown on me.

I don't mind what they did with Parkman's dad, mostly because I expect him to get out and do some more damage.

The whole thing with Sylar and the jungle, not to mention him happening to end up in the path of the twins, just bugs the hell out of me.

I can't say that I hated the ending of the season. I am annoyed that Sylar was around this whole season as there needs to be new, devious bad guys. I didn't like Adam, but I thought his type of evil was great. It moved forward, where Sylar feels like a step back.

The big problem, for me, was how Peter just chose to never read the mind of Adam. Seriously, the guy is standing there and you run into a bunch of people telling you that Adam is evil and yet Peter looks like a moron.

The Wonder Twins sucked. They were horrible. I also hated that people who are dead (specifically Mr. Bennit, who was shot in the head) can come back to life. I don't like that at all. I didn't mind Nathan's skin healing from the burns, though.

I did like how it looks like they used Claire's dad to off Nathan. He's an interesting character and put in a vice.

It seemed the whole "we're going to tell the world/no you're not" ending was rushed and forced, though, especially when West is against it but is flying around in broad daylight.

So no one ever catches on?

I really hope they do have it turn out to be Bennett that shot Nathan, and that they let Nathan die from the gunshot wounds.
