I just watched last night's episode, and I'm torn.

I'm happy to see that they're ready to fill in some holes and set up the epic battle that we all know is coming.

But it's sad to see that the cat is out of the bag among most of the characters. Part of the show's charm was the constant chess match. With the mind-reader's quip that it's time to answer some questions, it appears that there will be few secrets moving forward.

As for the whole DNA thing, I hope they don't go too sci-fi with that bit. I don't want the show to become a quest to clone gene 35 or some weird shit. I prefer that keep that part vague.

I never gave any thought to the Peter Parker thing, but there are some big similarities.

I wouldn't know Stan Lee if he walked in my front door, went to the fridge and made a pastrami sandwich. Also, what's with the cheap jab at Lost? I found it petty.

Stan Lee is a great guy.

Well, the Stan Lee cameo wasn't for you, then. For those that don't know, he is arguably the most prolific creator of superhero characters in the history of comics. With the help of various artists, he created the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and the X-Men just to start the list.

He also tends to show up in cameo roles in just about every movie made about a Marvel character, though I don't think he was in the Blade movies.

Again, I usually like it when he shows up in the comic book world. Just doesn't seem to fit this show.

He wasn't in Blade. I haven't heard if he's in Ghost Rider.

From the great Simpsons episode "I am Furious Yellow"

Stan Lee: You don't want a Batman toy. You want something more dignified. Like The Thing.
Database: Ahh, but only Batman can fit in my Batmobile.
Stan Lee: The Thing can fit too. (breaks the car by forcing in The Thing figure.)
Stan Lee: See? He's fitting already.
Database: Ahh, you broke my Batmobile.
Stan Lee: Broke? Or made it better?" (hums theme from Spider-Man while putting Marvel comics over DC comics on the rack.)

    Later in the episode
    Bart: Stan Lee came back?
Comic Book Guy: Stan Lee never left. I'm starting to think his mind is no longer in mint condition.

I would've loved to see a Stan Lee cameo in Blade, maybe at the vampire disco. That would've been seamless.

    Ha!

I don't think he had a part in creating Blade, though, as he did with the others.

He could have been the guy who gets picked up -- and later bitten -- by Traci Lords. :) :)

About as good as I've seen. Lots of background explanation. This show just gets better and better.

I'll third that sentiment. Tremendous episode. They surprised me with the appearance by Hiro's father. Great job of making more pieces fall into place while moving the story forward at the same time.
