Hillary Clinton -- Like her or hate her ...

    Well, yeah...

And actually, I've been meaning to bring this up on a different thread, or a new one, but curious...

Let's take Ann Coulter as an example...

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that she's reasonably attractive...

Is there a point where their politics are so abhorrent that there's no way? Or, if you found somebody you you thought reasonably attractive ... maybe, for many who consider Ms. Coulter a tall, thin, male with long hair, this is  a bad example ... would you consider it anyway? If she walked into your bar right now, knowing what she says -- which I believe a lot of which to be schtick -- could you put up with it in the pursuit of, um, other things?

I've been meaning to ask this question along time, and I'm curious about, in an abstract sense, of guys like Fenian_Bastard's answer...not about AC specifically, but just generally...

There are people who are together who are completely polar opposites politically...but does she push that beyond possibility?

    Interesting threesome

  4. I dislike her for the same reason I dislike most Democrats: she invokes populist rehetoric while pushing a pro-corporate agenda.  Just like her asshole husband and the so-called moderate wing of the party, which is actually conservative but can't be called such because the word "conservative" is presently being used to describe right-wing radicals.

A horrible, horrible choice for the nomination, but she's the favorite thanks to the aforementioned fundraising.  The Dems will fuck up the next presidential election unless they get another Southerner with populist appeal along the lines of Carter or Clinton to usurp the H-monster.  Last Dem to win the presidency who was not a Southerner: JFK.  And since JFK had some help from Mayor Daley on that one, you might want to go back to FDR, that is if you consider Truman (Missouri) Southern rather than Midwestern.

Interesting answer, and I'm sorry I hijacked the thread...but I want this other "politics are so abhorrent there's no chance a man and woman could be together" discussion again sometime...carry on..

I don't like her. Never have. She reminds me of my old Sister Justine.

    The gender card? Please.

    That's asinine beyond belief.

    Grow up.

Hold up there. The Democrats are guilty of pushing a "pro-corporate agenda"?

I'm guessing you're an immigrant who has recently arrived in this country and only made up through the Clinton presidency in the history books. Welcome to the country, and check back in to let us know how you feel about that "pro-corporate agenda" push when you get finished reading through the first four years under W's watch.

Have you ever heard of a man named George W. Bush?

Strike 'her husband' and insert 'Dad.' Or 'Grandad,' if you prefer.

Name one thing this president has achieved in his life without standing on the shoulders of other people. One.

"Accomplished" to be construed in a positive sense, of course . . .

    "crickets"

  11. Just because the Dems are to the left of the Republicans doesn't mean they're a pro-labor, grassroots-based, left-wing party. Except for monarchists and fascists, all political groups are to the left of today's Republicans. The Democratic Party is controlled by the ultra-rich and their policies reflect that. Yes, there is a liberal wing of the party, and yes, they still have ties to progressive organizations. The spectrum of political views has shifted so far to the right in this country that moderates are now considered liberals and liberals are now considered leftists. Clinton, like Carter, was very friendly to big business. NAFTA and the Telecom Act are examples of this...

We haven't had a liberal president since LBJ. Welcome to this country's history.
