HIMYM -- Season 4

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Double Down, Sep 23, 2008.

  1. My immediate reaction, and I almost never talk to the television, was a disgusted, "Oh no!"

I think, in typical HIMYM fashion, this isn't it. Just the precursor to the real reveal. It doesn't make any sense.

If she turns out to be the mother this point, I will be extremely disappointed.

Just doesn't feel like a "magical" discovery, does it?

After they did the tease with what the kids would've looked like had Stella been the mother, I think it's pretty safe to say she's NOT the mother now, but only a gateway to the mother.

By the way, how cool would it have been if it was Victoria under the umbrella. Am I alone on this?

My first reaction was, "What, the fuck?"

But knowing this show, there's no way she's the mother.

Of course, the fact that Scrubs is almost over means she'll have plenty of free time on her hands next fall, which worries me.

Either way, at least all of you who were complaining about no plot progression can put this in your pipe and smoke it.

No, you're not alone on that. I would much rather see Victoria return.

I wish one of those kids would stand up and say, "Hey, Dad! Wrap it up already so we can get on with our lives!!"

And some plot progression ... it took them 30 minutes to tell us what they could have shown us in 2.

Disappointment was the unanimous reaction in my house. My wife suggested she is going to introduce Ted to the eventual Mom, mentioning her sister, who's a brunette. But she is too wild for Ted and Ted didn't really like her from the wedding episode.

And next week's episode starts out with, "Hey Ted, I think you have my friend's umbrella."
At least I hope so. I don't mind Stella but they have already shown what the kids would have looked like with her and that doesn't work. Last week's episode also said that when Ted got the eventual mother's phone number, he called her right away.
I also thought it was a well-done episode. Full of all the little things I love about this show. The callbacks. The jokes. The lines.
"Every inch of her tasted like roast beef and creatine."
    Awesome...

A very well done episode. I wonder if Robin was on Barney's list -- they didn't mention it at all. No way that she's the mother.

The running gag of hiding the pregnant Robin and Lily's bellies is very funny.

I would have to think Robin is on the list. I'm pretty sure they hooked up after watching the Robin Sparkles "Sandcastles in the Sand" video.
