She might not even be a student. She could be a professor or an adminstrator observing the new instructor. Ted has no training as a teacher, so that would make some sense.

You know, and I've said this before, if the kids are in 2030, that would put Ted at around 52 when he is telling the story since he was 31 at the end of Season 4.
Depending on the age of the children, the show has about three to six seasons to get everything figured out.
So, to me, it looks like they built in some flexibility when they conceived the story line. I think I would enjoy seeing the show go past meeting the mother. Ted courting her. Settling in together and living their lives.
So I hope the finale isn't meeting the mother and fading to black.
I think that would kind of suck.
On the flipside, in a couple of years, Segel might be too big a star for the show to keep, so that might also factor in.

  3. I've always had that thought as well (see what happens after they meet), but I don't see that happening. The producers have been pretty clear about wanting to end with meeting the mother ... unless that is all a set up to surprise us with the mother during a november sweeps or something.

And Robin was wearing that skimpy, kinda tight yellow top as opposed to the billowy blouses of the past few weeks.

I don't see what Segel's weight has to do with anything ;)

(But, seriously, dude is getting paunchy. Might want to switch to Lite beer at McClaren's).

If I was Segel, I wouldn't be leaving the show anytime soon... For some reason I don't think the Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel as movie stars is going to last more than a few years. I like all three, but let's be realistic...

Well I'd guess that Jonah Hill would be the first to fall off the wagon since he's a no-talent ass clown.
That dude is so unfunny, it isn't funny.

That dude makes me laugh. Every time. Usually, he doesn't even have to talk.

I just watched him again in the SNL Digital Short where he's dating Samberg's father. That was Jonah at the top of his game.

Oh, by the way, I also thought this finale sucked in general. It felt way too much like just another episode as opposed to what a season finale is supposed to be.

That being said, it was still better than most everything else on TV, so I can't hate too much.

I really thought the goat was going to eat Ted's drawings of the hat eatery, leading into a fight with the goat, which, of course, would triumph.

  12. I thought the goat was going to eat the hat, or part of the hat, and the design was going to end up being a Stetson with a bite taken out of the brim.

I liked the episode. I liked the season. This is one of the few shows Mrs. Omar and I can watch and consistently enjoy on a weekly basis.

People are stressing the plot points way too much.
