Love Monkey got the ax pretty quick, but VH1 picked up the rest of the season and aired it there.
Wikipedia says Emily's Reasons Why Not, starring one Heather Graham, lasted one episode.

I still like HIMYM better than Big Bang, but I must admit BB has grown on me immensely.

It used to be "Eh ... I gotta watch something before HIMYY comes on." Now, it has graduated onto my DVR list.

Tom Cavanagh can't catch a break:

    - "Ed" got jerked around by NBC before finally getting axed after four years. It still hasn't been released on DVD.
    - "Love Monkey" lasted just a few episodes on CBS before it was shunted off to VH-1, where the remaining episodes were burned off.
    - "Trust Me" got whacked by TNT this spring after a 13-episode run. This one bummed me out. I thought that after a slow start, it finally got rolling - too late, though, to save itself.

I'm a huge Ed fan. Huge.

But Tom Cavanaugh has played the same character, basically, in all three of his TV series.

Speaking of Coupling, one of my all time favorite TV episode comes from the BBC series... the one where the guy is flirting with an Israeli woman and the whole thing gets screwed up where the girl thought the guy was interested in the translator. Well done scenes where we hear how both sides play out in different languages. Just a well done plot point.

Oh, yeah, bydesign. That ep was AWESOME. I was also partial to the ep with the "porn closet." That was a great show, and the blonde chick was ssssssssmokin'.

And, Farrar -- slight correction. Coupling had six actors. Three guys, three girls.

Your point stands, though. I hadn't thought of it, but HIMYM is a lot like Coupling. Nice pull.

And, I'm down will all the Tom Cavanaugh fandom. I thought Ed was brilliant, and really dug Love Monkey, too. Sadly, neither available on DVD, which pisses me off to no end.

That list is absolutely intriguing. I love that kind of trivia.

Emily's Reasons Why Not and Secret Talents of the Stars are the only ones on that list I've seen. Both were trainwreck bad.

Has anyone out there seen the game show Cash Cab? I think a great episode to HIMYM would be either the whole crew getting into the Cash Cab.

Now, that I think about it, that storyline might be a good one to Rules of Engagement.
