Great episode. Robin's speech was outstanding. Still my favorite character on the show.

My knee-jerk reaction as soon as the credits started rolling (and I said this out loud to my fiancee, who only started watching midway through last season and hasn't really seen the A-game HIMYM is capable of): "That was the best episode of this show in years."

Loved it, loved it, loved it.

Loved the callbacks to the first season (Robin's speech was terrific). Loved the way the Barney-Robin storyline advanced while he STILL managed to look like womanizing sleazeball we all love.

This wipes the slate clean and gets Ted back on track and, dare I say it, sets up the rest of the season nicely. <ducking>

CLIFF CLAVIN: I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.

CARLA TORTELLI: Why else would she be there?

    wait a second.

Didn't ANY of you recognize Mrs. Mosby popping up behind the kids?

    The mystery is over!

The blonde kids old Ted was imagining if he and Stella stayed together?

I didn't mind the recaps, though I agree that they weren't necessary.

Stella's line would have been better if we hadn't already seen it in promos for this week. Funny stuff.

I think I might be the only one rooting for Ted and Robin to get back together. The blue French horn is one of my favorite parts of the whole series, so it was awesome to have a call back to it, and to zitchdog.

Really liked the episode. Stella's "suck it bitch" was hilarious, and even though the recaps might have been overkill, I really liked the theme that we're all a part of someone's stories. Ted is simply a part of Stella's story about "How I Married Your Father, Lucy."

Great look on Barney's face as Robin walked away.
I think the story had enough elements to turn this into a two-parter. It would have made for an even stronger episode.
We missed Robin's going away party. She went to Tokyo and is already back in under 10 minutes.
The show had a quality to it. Kind of sad actually. You have this guy and his ex is telling him not to settle. Because that's what the whole series is about. This guy named Ted and this grand adventure he has with his friends before he gets married.
I don't know, I guess Robin's speech hit closer to home than I would have liked.
And note to self: Buy the DVDs for this show and also patronize its advertisers and write CBS about how great this show is.

Well put. There was definitely a sad element to the episode. It reminded me of the scene when Ted came back from finally getting together with Robin only to find Marshall sitting on the front stoop in the rain, absolutely crushed because he and Lilly had broken up. Even though though we knew Marshall and Lilly would end up together, that scene was still outstanding.

There is a real romantic thread to this show, and sometimes that means showing the painful side of things. This show handles those things incredibly well for a sitcom.

Robin's speech was great, as was the Barney's reaction when she walked away. That whole scene, including Stella's sister arriving after Robin left, was beautifully done.

It probably could have been done in two parts, but I actually liked how tight the episode was. To me, that is a great episode of television. When you look back and you can't believe so much happened in such a short time. I remember looking at my watch at 8:49 and wondering how the hell they were going to tie this up in a satisfactory way, but they pulled it off.

No, his real kids, today. The ones he's always telling stories to.

And the wife popped in during the story and said something like, "He's telling you that story again?"

    It was a 45-year-old Robin.

Do you mean nobody else saw that?

That was an older Stella talking to her and Ted's hypothetical kids if they'd stayed together.
