HIMYM Season....um...what season is it?

If you look at the movie theater during that scene, they had just come out of seeing The Wedding Bride II.

Is it sad that I really hope we get to see snippets of that?

Still think there's a big untold story of where Barney went after the drunk train and before he ended up in Lily and Marshall's bed. The fact that the bar girl from the previous episode wasn't in this one, and that they were hammering the Robin/Barney angle last night, has me thinking that's where Robin is headed. I think there's only six or seven episodes in the season, so if it's going to end with Barney's wedding there may not time for it to be anyone other than Robin or possibly Nora.

Just watched it online so it's up to view.
I thought it was a good episode...I think they will kick it into high gear from here on out (I hope.)

I think Becki Newton's character was a misdirection act, though I can't explain how Barney got out of a taxi in what certainly appeared to be Manhattan and ended up at Marshall and Lily's place.

Again, patience is key with this show.

It's absolutely within Lily's character to manipulate Ted's dating life. She's been doing it for years. She broke Ted and Robin up the first time, as someone pointed out, but that clearly was before the bet was made.

I agree with everyone who said that Marshall should have paid off the bet in that final scene. The way he answered, that wasn't just him being competitive. That was him still believing in Ted and Robin, which sure seems like the show leaving the door open. And that door needs to be closed for good.

Yes, that was a good episode. It was well written, sentimental and seemed like a step toward the end. But that doesn't make yet another Robin-Ted tangent acceptable.

Imagine I run my car off the road and into a snow-filled ditch, then me and some buddies do a truly genius, badass job of digging the car out without any damage or even all that much effort. That doesn't make running the car off the road and into the ditch a good idea.

I said I'm not going to stop watching the show, and I mean it. But the tangent was ridiculous. I know it was tying up a loose end from the cake girl earlier this season, but it was ridiculous to introduce then, too. They had put the Robin thing to bed 75 times already. Ended it. Cold. Dead. Ted has had his flashbacks to being in love with Robin. About 10 of them. And they've had the "There's nothing there" talk every time. It did not. need. to. happen. again. Even if it made for a great episode.

  7. I mostly agree. I would've been just fine with it if they had used it as the vehicle to put Barney and Robin together once and for all and while it still might end up that way, they passed on the chance to do it last night.

Just looked it up on IMDb and Becki Newton is only listed for one episode. So I'm not entirely sure if she's signed on to do more episodes.

Well, she was an outstanding misdirection act if that's so. All of my friends who watch the show were convinced Barney was going to her apartment.

    Except me. :D

Ending the last episode with Florence and the Machine made it that much better.

Barney said he took the drunk train. And next week she's back, or at least that plot point returns.

I think the timeline that night was:

--Barney and Ted were on Drunk Train.
--Barney picks someone up but turns it down, then he's shown getting out of the cab (presumably at Becki Newton's but I don't know).
--The next morning Barney ends up in Lily and Marshall's bed.

Maybe he hopped back on the Drunk Train, but there's something missing in the chain of events.

Side note, although I've been let down by the entertainment value of the show itself, I surprise myself with how interested I am in the twists and turns like these. So, well-played, producers and writers.
