HIMYM Season....um...what season is it?

I think Barney just got out of the cab in a "Let me out now" not a specific point. He realizes he can't get back to Manhattan, so he goes to Marshall and Lily's.

Did anyone else notice Nora on CSI last week?

Didn't see Nora, but in reading up a little further on the future, I see that the HIMYM producers just signed Becki Newton for a sitcom on Fox next season, so that would also suggest she isn't going to end up being Barney's bride or part of the show in a long-term way.

Ah, you might be right. Somewhere along the way I made the leap from the season opener that that's how this season would end. I think a lot of people have made that leap, but come to think of it I can't remember anything in the plot that would make it have to be that way.

That's the leap I made, although I, too, could see where that might not be the case.

OK. I've been more forgiving than anyone in this thread. I've been more forgiving than any of my friends. But I really didn't need that episode. The Robin/Marshall/Lily plot was acceptable, more mushy than funny but there was a payoff. The Ted plot was weak, as almost any plot in which Ted is left to his own devices tends to be. But the Barney plot was downright terrible. That might have been the biggest waste of Neil Patrick Harris in How I Met Your Mother history.

I didn't mind the Ted subplot as much, though I am getting more and more sick of the character, but I agree on Barney. Didn't care for that at all.

I sort of liked the episode, except: 1) Quinn should have been in last week's episode; 2) Pathetic Barney is not fun

Thought Barney at the ATM was hilarious.

And the whole bit with Robin, Marshall and Lily was well done, IMO.

I liked the idea of Barney meeting someone who plays him, and then he finally shares with someone but she assumes he's just making stuff up.

It just didn't work for me right now because I'm rooting so hard for Barney/Robin that I just want Quinn to go away.

    Yup.

And according to the May Sweeps Scorecard at TVLine.com, one of the weddings that will be revealed, via flash forward, is Barney's. So we will know who Barney is marrying at the end of this season.
