HIMYM Season....um...what season is it?

If it's not Barney and Robin getting married, a few things will happen:

A-I will throw things at my TV
B-I will probably not be alone, because it seems the last few seasons, more and more people have been more invested in the Barney/Robin relationship rather than Ted/The Mother
C-I will probably automatically hate his bride for all eternity...or until next season, whichever comes first

Didn't they say that The Mother was at Barney's wedding? Is there still a chance that she's his sister?

I'm thinking Ted meets the mother, but is so blotto at the reception he doesn't remember it.

Hmm. Not quite sure what to make of that ending.

Baby Marvin has crapped better things than that hour of TV.

Then why do all that magic-trick shit with Barney unveiling an engagement ring for Quinn?

Count me in the "that episode was shit" club. Not because I don't want Barney with Robin (I do) but because the reality is setting in that the entire next season is going to be another tedious development of how the Barney-Quinn engagement went awry and how he wound up with Robin.

Apparently I'm in the minority who thought this was one of the best episodes of the season. And not just because of the last 10 seconds of the episode. I thought it was really funny (especially all of the stories that they told to Lily).

The stuff with Ted and Victoria was crap. You knew they would revisit that relationship. They did. They didn't need to do it again.

Of course, Ted goes on about doing the right thing, then doesn't. Once again, Ted is a douchebag.

Count me among the many who have grown fed up with this show and threatened to quit watching it, but I thought the season finale was pretty good, at least better than most of late. I think this show is so based on projecting forward that it's hard to take each episode at its face value rather than judging it based on how it fits into the big picture

Loved the first 30 minutes. The thing with Ted looking at Marshall and Lilly as parents and remembering the crazy crap they did rang true with me.

The last 30 was meh meh meh. OOP is right about Ted's doucheness. I'm having a difficult time liking him, let alone caring how he met the mom - who obviously isn't Victoria.

I'll finish the run with the show. And hope next season doesn't suck like I fear it will.

I'm sure some people who are more hardcore and don't just enjoy the show when they happen to catch it can tell me:

Was it the plan to deliberately make the main character the least interesting, least funny character? Or did they just create a cipher, and fail to fill in the blanks?
