HIMYM Season....um...what season is it?

I wondered the same thing. About it being a different wedding.

I distinctly recall Lily and Robin coming to get Ted and last night it was just Lily.

The AV Club summed it up pretty well with the writers are just trying to keep secrets for secrets sake. They no longer fill a useful function and are incredibly annoying to the people who have watched the show from the beginning.

All that being said, thinking back about all the stupid things your friends did the first time you see them with their kid is one of the truest things they have ever shown.

I checked. He definitely had one at Robin's wedding scene.

    AV Club also includes this:

Without knowing if Season 8 is the last season, how much can you plan out? Where will we pick up in the premiere? Will we see the wedding again?
Thomas: I can't say when we'll see the wedding again, but we have a bunch of the big moments of Season 8 plotted out. We're waiting on negotiations with actors and all that to see if this is it. That makes it a little tricky. It's like we'll be fixing the car as we're driving it. It's the point where business and art meet. But hopefully anyone who sees the finale can attest to the fact that there is a lot to explore from the finale.

... When it's the last season, we want to announce it from the rooftop and say, "Hey, there are 24 more episodes left. They're awesome and you gotta watch it!" If it's the last season, you'll know it's a big momentous season from the first episode.

    That's just dreadful.

  5. Am I the only one who doesn't get the attachment of Barney and Robin that some seem to have?

Their relationship was fairly short lived on the show and most of it was just them banging. When it became "real" after the episode where Lilly locked them in Robin's room, they lasted what, three-four episodes and were constantly talking about how terrible they were together.

I agree with the above poster, Barney ending up with Nora would have been the best. She was better for him and a total smoke show.

They were better together until they actually got together. It has been downhill since.

I never liked Nora. Never saw her as a good fit. To me, that was the gag, to put Barney with the kind of woman who shouldn't want anything to do with him.

Quinn? Much better fit. At this point, I think better with Barney than Robin ever was. I was really hoping that the final reveal was another fake-out and that Barney and Robin would not end up together after all.

As it is, we still have to see how Robin lives a bunch of different places if she is married to Barney. Remember, Ted has said she did spend time overseas. Besides, doesn't Barney want kids? We're supposed to believe he would leave New York and give up on children to be with somebody?

I did enjoy Robin dumping on Stella and Zoe. For a second I thought people from SJ had a say in some dialogue.

Maybe it's only because I'm a dork, but when the guys were approaching that secret door in McLaren's, I swore to my wife that they were playing the music from The Legend Of Zelda ... and then later in the episode, the game is shown when Marshall is using the ATM.

Or did I make all this up? I did have a few drinks when I was watching it.

    http://blog.sfgate.com/dailydish/2012/08/02/rep-denies-jason-segels-how-i-met-your-mother-exit-rumors/

Segel quoted on an Austrian website (?) saying he's out after the coming season. “I’ve been playing the nice guy for quite a long time now. That’s why I’m gonna quit ‘How I Met Your Mother’ after the eighth season."

Rep denies that, of course. Personally, I'd love to see the show end this season.

Yeah, I'm especially skeptical about foreign articles when the reporter might not have picked up on someone being sarcastic or funny.

How many more seasons are they looking at anyway? I can't imagine this show has more than 1-2 seasons left. It's been pretty mediocre for quite some time...

I saw another article a couple weeks ago that said they were in talks about Season 9. It also said they have an "exit strategy" for the show, so it seems like they'd need to make a decision on that before they proceeded with Season 8.

I saw that too. It was tagged at the end of a Sepinwall blog about the HIMYM soundtrack album that's coming out this fall. He made it sound like Season 8 was the final season, but there might be some interest in doing a ninth one from all parties involved.
