HIMYM Season....um...what season is it?

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by outofplace, Sep 19, 2011.

  1. I thought for sure it had long been decided that this coming season would be the last. I think it's time.

If they had balls, they would identify the mother in the first episode of this season.

I'm trying to think to the time in my life I will start the "How I met your mother" story to my son when he is old enough. If I start 8 years prior to when I actually met her as this show has gone...I would have been 16, been dating in a dead-end relationship that ended after I proposed at 19 and trying to figure out if I wanted to play sports or work at the local radio station as an intern.

    Yeah...I'd watch that.

The ending of the show has to be the two original actors who played the kids in the pilot - on the same couch - dressed the same way (maybe the son has a beard, the daughter a kid in her lap).
"Great story Dad. Now can we have dinner?"

It has to be soon because within three years, Ted's married with a child. Meet the goddamn mother and get it over with.

If they go back to Barney/Robin's wedding in the first episode, we might meet the mother.

Basically, we have to wait for October for the "relationship bloodbath":

I just started watching this show because I've been hearing for years how great it is, and within the last month I've plowed through the first three seasons, just started season 4.

I can't believe how unbelieavbly awesome this show is. I haven't read any of the threads on it on here because I don't want any spoilers, but dang this is outstanding.

I'm guessing that we'll find out who the mother is tonight, but my power will be off and my DVR won't record the episode.

Haha. That made me laugh. Good luck (not in finding out the mother but the whole Sandy thing).

FYI most of the recent discussion has been on the Season 8 thread.

Welcome aboard Rusty...feel free to genuflect on the other board...be prepared to get bogged down in some seriously slow storylines in the following seasons though! LOL

No need to worry, CBS isn't showing any new episodes tonight.

  11. The first few seasons or so really are great. But you're in for some rough episodes down the line, particularly in the most recents seasons (6 and 7)

I think it would be easier to appreciate Seasons 6 and 7 if you're watching three or four at a time. The main plot wouldn't drag as much, and those seasons had a lot of good comedy. This one? Not so much.
