How do you negotiate witih somebody who only wants to kill you?

I'm not saying negotiate. I'm saying try to find another option. There has to be more than:
    a) kill 'em all
    b) give in

    And those options would be?

Well now, if I knew what those options were, I'd be trying to implement them, not debating issues with you. But to simply say, "these are our only choices, pick one" is a narrow-minded view, and when it comes to the lives of people you sound like you're willing to sacrifice, I'd rather put in a little more time to see if there's another option.

Because, quite frankly, I'm not convinced I'd want to see my son's life sacrificed because no one wanted to take the time to find another option besides kill 'em all.

First, realize that not all Muslims are terrorists. I know it's inconvenient and all, but still.

I'm not saying kill 'em all either but I don't know what the other options would be. The one that always seems to come up is "educate them". Long-term that's probably the best option but it doesn't do much to stop what's going on in the short term.

First of all, go fuck yourself.

Second of all, I do realize that and I never said "kill 'em all."

This thread was a reaction to the column posted. What is the columnist suggested solution? What is your solution? It's easy to say fight terrorists, sure, great, go for it. But the column was painting Islam as the enemy.

There are some crazy Muslims, sure. Doesn't make 'em all crazy, though.

No they aren't all crazy and no the "kill 'em all" philosophy isn't going to work either. But it'd probably be a good idea to shoot back at the ones who are doing the shooting.

    I'm pretty sure we are.

Yeah, QB. I don't think anyone implied we weren't shooting back.

The column seems like a response to those who are calling for an end to the Iraq war and the situation in Israel. If we hadn't gone into Iraq, nobody would be shooting at us right now, and since no one is shooting at us in Israel/Lebanon, the theory is why get involved there either.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply I didn't think we were shooting back.
