Was watching "Gone in Sixty Seconds" last night on USA, and noticed Dr. Kelso from "Scrubs" was the guy who tips two quarters and gets his Bentley stolen at the country club.

  2. Two of my favorites, courtesy of late-night cable TV (Sleuth channel on DirecTV and Nick at Nite).

Daniel J. Travanti as a love interest for Sally Field on Gidget.
David Caruso as Sonny Crockett's original partner in the pilot of Miami Vice. He lasts about 30 seconds before he's blown up.

That was Jimmy Smits as the original partner.

I watched a wretched 1993 version of Frosty the Snowman that had a young Elizabeth Moss doing the voice of a young girl (which she was at the time).

At the end of the show, she told Frosty to get his own coffee. I thought that was strange.

Watched "An Officer and a Gentleman" for the first time in years the other night. David Caruso is Daniels, the candidate who drops out after he nearly drowns in the plane crash simulator.

As for Paul Giamatti, he's also the guy in the next booth making out with a girl during Campbell Scott and Kyra Sedgwick's first date.

Watched "Christmas Vacation" for the umpteenth time today, and just now realized that Juliette Lewis plays Audrey. Man I feel stupid.

Watching 'Major League" today. The janitor from "Scrubs" has a cameo as a construction worker who says, "Those guys don't stink too bad" or something along those lines in a brief collage of public reaction shots about 1/2 way through the movie when the Indians start winning.

Whoops. Mentioned way back on Page 1, as OOP noted. My apologies.

But I also remember "Ed" from Northern Exposure and Toby Zeigler from WW having roles as criminals on NYPD Blue after (Ed) and before (Toby) they played the parts that made them famous.

Holy crap, that was Mike McGlone from "The Brothers McMullen" doing a Geico ad.

And lip-synching I assume. If not, it's the most-jarring voiceover revelation since I found out Liev Schreiber narrates all the HBO sports documentaries ...

A few days ago, my dad and sister were watching "WarGames" with Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy on TV. I first saw the movie in the theaters around '83 or '84.

I remember the opening scene where the two guys come in for their shift in the missile control room, and the red alert comes on (which turned out to be a test) with one of the guys hesitating and the other pulling a gun on him to try and force him to turn the key.

For years, I never thought about the scene much as far as who the actors were, but a few years ago, I caught the scene again on cable TV and saw the actors playing those roles. They were John Spencer (of "The West Wing") and Michael Madsen. It amazed me to see how young Madsen was.

Was watching a pretty old "Law and Order" the other day and it had a whole slew of folks.

Maura Tierney (News Radio, ER) played the sister of homicide victim
Frank Vincent (Sopranos, played Phil) was the owner of a strip club
Vincent Curatola (Sopranos, Johnny Sac) was the court clerk
Lisa Nicole Carson (Ally McBeal's roomie, Benton's girlfriend on ER) was a friend of the departed
