It's not terribly cold here, but my apartment is unacceptably frigid.

It was 75 yesterday afternoon (in lovely west Texas), started sleeting around midnight and was 24 on the bank thermometer when I drove home from the basketball game I was covering. Apparently snowed this morning but only stuck around for a little while.

And it was windy as shit. I love it when someone leaves the door to Canada open.

Yeah, it was 72 here yesterday at 2:30 p.m., by 2:30 a.m. it was all of 22. Nothing like a 50-degree drop in 12 hours. It snowed a little bit here, but it all blew away with the high winds. Also, my tomato bushes died over night, very traumatic.

I've just woken up to a blizzard warning. No work today! Woo hoo!

A SNOW DAY for me too!!

My first in 12 years ... what should I do today? Build a snowman? Go sledding? Write my name in the snow?

Webby, gutter...send a little of that snow west. It's cold and the ground is bare. And the skating rinks look silly with no snow around the edges.

I would glady give you some of this snow... we are up to five inches already in four hours.

We dodged a bullet here. All the biggest stuff passed to our north. All we got was a dusting and the roads last night were clear except for some bridges, which were sanded.

High today of 52º forecast, which means a kickoff temp of about 40º tonight. No Ice Bowl for me.

I had never heard of putting sand on bridges/roads until I first moved to Alabama.

    What. The. Fuck.

Seriously, I could drive better if you didn't put anything down. Sand is worse than useless.

The worst of it is finally over for us. Now there's just a shitload of snow out there.

Currently -6 C (or 21 F), snowing and last night around 9 p.m., when I went to my car, the doors were frozen shut. We'll see if she opens (and starts) today when I go to work around 5 p.m.

It was 65 here at midnight. It's now 52. I love the (border) South.
