My most striking memory of Claudell Washington was that his shoulders were so sharply angled he looked like he was walking around with a coat hanger stuck in his shirt:

My memories are of him wearing No. 15 for the Braves during those '80s games on TBS.

Hubbard and Ramirez as the double play combo. Good times.

After looking at Washington's stats, except for the fact that Claudell was HORRIBLE defensively, it's a pretty good comp.

So a pitcher from 80 years ago is who you're hanging Heyward's future on?

    OK.

Perez went .290-26-102 in his third season.

Brooks Robinson finished third in the MVP balloting in his third season.

Koufax and Ryan I'll give you, but pitchers are a different animal from an every-day player.

This never ceases to amaze me.

I can still remember when 90-mph pitchers were the rarity. Last season, 16 major-league pitchers hit 100 or better. Included were such luminaries as Carter Capps, Jumbo Diaz and Michael Foltynewicz.

I think I remember him stealing home on one of those awful Stump Merrill teams.

There's another one, Stump Merrill. The Yankees actually did that.

I changed it to a bitly link. I fucking hate those long-ass links that fuck up the program when you're trying to read these pages on a phone.

Arrghhh. jr, can you go to bitly and change it to a short link, please?
