    Wright's quote from March:

"If Omar or someone from the front office approaches me and says 'hey, we're looking and Alex has an interest in coming to Queens,' I'd be the first one to offer to play any position they want me to becuase a guy like that just make a team completely better. As great a hitter as Alex is, I'll defintely do it."

    I'm from Missouri -- what can I say? ::)

I still won't believe A-Rod is no longer a Yankee until I see him pull that new cap over his head.

If A-Rod went to the Mets, why shouldn't he play short, or first, or the outfield? After all, it's not about the money.

My brother wants A-Rod to sign with the Mariners so he can throw fake money at him on Opening Day.

The Mets tried playing Reyes at second when Matsui came over, and it wasn't a big hit; Reyes was also hurt at the time, too. He's much happier at short, and he plays that way. Reyes has a cannon, although I'm not sure how much better his arm is than Rodriguez's. Right now, I'd rather have Reyes at shortstop. His errors have gone down every year (18 in 2005, 17 in 2006, 12 in 2007).

I really don't see A-Rod moving to the outfield. Not at this stage of his career, at least.

Reyes is the best shortstop in the NL, so moving him would be a mistake. Trading him would be even worse, because he has become a fan favorite.

I don't see A-Rod going to the outfield or first. That's why I think the Mets are a huge longshot.

After reading stories on the subject, I don't think the BoSox are doing anything with him, and I don't blame them. Hell, if you can win the title without a $30 million man, why the hell should you pay him?

That said, I may narrow my choices down to the Dodgers, Angels and Cubs. Angels fans on here are adamant that they don't see that happening.

I think A-Rod would be a good fit at Wrigley, and hope to hell he doesn't go to the Dodgers. But even with all that's been said, I still don't rule out the Yankees -- yet.

Does Rodriguez want to play with Torre in L.A.?

Again, Harley, there are stories in tomorrow's NY papers that if Wright will agree to a position change, the Mets will pursue Rodriguez.

And if you're not ruling out the Yankees, you're calling Hank Steinmbrenner a bald faced liar:

"We're not going to back down," Steinbrenner said. "It's goodbye."

This is what I'm thinking. ARod won't have the pressure in LA he had in New York, still gets to play for Torre and is the main attraction on that team.
He would be the face of the franchise.

What's wrong with calling Hank Steinbrenner a liar? He's already proving himself to be an arrogant prick.

Wasn't he just saying last week that everybody should temper their expectations of the new manager because he wasn't taking over "the '96 Yankees?" But now it's outrageous for Rodriguez to question the direction of the franchise?

Which is it? The team's not as good as it has been in the past or it's so great that nobody could possibly question they are going?

If A-Rod were going to stay in NY, why wouldn't he have done so with the Yankees?

    God, I hate the Dodgers.
