How many prospects does it take to get Santana? Four quality?

The California Angels seem to have a ton of prospects, anyone else have enough to pry Johan away?

You also want Ann-Margret sitting on your cock. Neither will happen.

There's been a constant stream of the usual sports radio rumors about the Mets or Yankees trying to get Johan in a trade, but I don't think there's anything to them.

My best guess at what it will take:

A legit right-handed bat that can play every day.

A frontline starter. Maybe not a 1, but at least a two.

    A stud pitching prospect.

A prospect to be named later.

That's a lot, and a good argument can be made that it's too much. But someone will likely pay the freight, because there are a lot of teams who can legitimately feel like they'd be immediate WS contenders with the addition of Santana.

Would the Twins take Brandon Wood, Nick Adenhart, Ervin Santana and a lower-level bat for Johan? Would/should the Angels do that?

    My Mets proposal for Santana:

Humber or Pelfrey, but not both; Milledge or Gomez, but not both; and any other two players or pitchers in the organization, not including Wright, Reyes, Maine, Ollie Perez or Fernando Martinez.

How can any other team sign Liriano or Bonser?

If I'm the Twins, I try to sign Hunter, Santana or both... you're opening up a new stadium a few years down the road that will provide good new revenue streams. If you lose Hunter, then open the bank for Santana. If you lose both... well, you're not screwed, but you're certainly poorer in that division.

I think the Renteria deal is good. Tigers have Maybin coming up in the system, so Hernandez is an extra part.

Didn't realize who made the post, Buck. Thought it was one of our lesser lights.

Hernandez was a step below Maybin this year. He spent the year at low-A West Michigan while Maybin was at high-A Lakeland for half the season with a week in Double A Erie and the rest in the majors.

Hernandez and Maybin are both the same type of player and both are center fielders. Plus the Tigers have a bunch of young pitching talent in the minors (at some point, it was going to be necessary to trade some).

Long term, if I were the Twins, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Not so much if I were the Angels on that one.
