Schneider can't hit. At all. And Ryan Church is no different from the thousand other .270-hitting outfielders any team could sign at any time.

    Great deal, Omar. Love it.

He jacks out a few and hits for average, I'll be willing to overlook it.

I'm not unsold on Church. I've always liked the guy but admit I could be way wrong.

Mets add some depth and clubhouse guys while ridding themselves of a shithead brat. Can't see how the deal is a bad move for the Metropolitans.

Church hit .317 against the Mets last year with 4 HRs and 12 RBIs. He also scored 7 runs and had a .429 OBP. Maybe Omar took the route, if you get beat by them, trade for them.

I love--LOVE--that the Mets had to trade with the Nats to get a new catcher. I imagine the irony escapes Omar and his crack staff.

If that were true Pat Burrell would have a lifetime contract with the Mets.

Yet again, Burrell can't run. The Mets already have an outfielder who is slower than Burrell. His name is Moises Alou.

You talking on the Flores thing? The Mets season-ticket holder who sat next to me at Shea was real pissed when I explained the Rule 5 thing to him after The Truth (but maybe not yet) gunned down Reyes. Gunned down Milledge, too, now that I think about it.

    Don't forget Shawn Green. I know I can't. Unfortunately.
