  1. Any chance Seattle sings A-Rod? He goes full circle?

Yup. Wasn't pitching that did them in.

Gorkys Hernandez is a extremely good CF prospect - great speed and defense. This has the potential to blow up in Detroit's face - I like Jurrjens too - but they had to get a shortstop, and CF is a position of strength in the organization with Granderson and Maybin.

A-Rod is not 100% out of the picture for the Tigers - Ilitch will spend money when he gets a chance to win. They offered Juan Gonzalez $150 million ... luckily for them, he didn't take it. Even with Renteria, A-Rod would be an upgrade on Brandon Inge at 3B. But the chance just went from 5% to 1%.

Did Olney really say he thinks the Tigers are the frontrunner for ARod, even after the Renteria deal?

Wasn't that the speculation not too long ago?

    This is good.

I would rather ship Humber than Pelfrey, and I'm not sold on one good season from Perez, regardless of the magic Peterson worked with him.

If he did, he obviously read my post on why ARod could end up in a Tiger uniform on the other thread.

Where did you hear Olney say the Tigers are a frontrunner, Hank?

Anyone who thinks that A-Rod will go anywhere but the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers or Angels are fooling themselves.

The luxury tax that goes with the contract BorASS is demanding will cripple them.

The Yankees have said repeatedly they will not negotiate with A-Rod if he opts out. Based on Hank Steinbrenner's statements today, A-Rod will not be back with the Yankees under any circumstances

I thought A-Rod was bound for the Cubs?

Another message board (mlive), people were saying they heard Olney on ESPN saying he thought the Tigers were the frontrunner.

It's pretty much a fan board, so put however much credence into that as you will. Was just wondering if anyone from here had heard Olney say that about ARod and the Tigers?

I heard Olney mention the Tigers this afternoon, but I never heard him say frontrunner.
