After the year he had and the lousy press he got from Stark's book, I'm stunned he nearly got $20 mil a year. The length of the contract, though, is not so surprising.

Wow, I can't believe I screwed that up. Maybe because I was doing something concerning Andrew Bogut earlier. Still, give me an E.

It's still $1 million less than what J.D. Drew makes annually on his five-year contract. That's how I prefer to look at it.

    From the L.A. story:
"Jones, 30, whose throwing arm is far superior to that of Juan Pierre, will become the Dodgers regular center fielder, forcing Pierre to move to left."

Hell, Roberto Clemente's arm is far superior than Pierre's and he's been dead for over 30 years.

Far too much money for Andruw Jones. Dodgers got duped.

The only good thing you can say for the Dodgers in this is that they aren't locked into anything long-term. If I'm Ned Coletti, I can sleep comfortably with this deal.

Deal or not, I'm sure Coletti's sleeping OK.

Exactly. It's a good gamble by the Dodgers, with it only being a two-year deal. If it doesn't work out, so be it, he walks soon enough anyway. And it's not like the Dodgers are hurting for money.

Is he better at two years than Torii Hunter at five?
I like that signing better than Hunter. I know that's not saying much.
