And I will add that by the time the Lobos hire a coach New Mexico could be in the Big East so it would be a BCS job...

By the time the Big East is done, every Division I school will be in a BCS conference.

I think Meyer will use the Penn State opening to get Ohio State to give him everything he wants.

Except they can't guarantee him one thing he wants.

    No NCAA sanctions.

True. I still say he winds up with the job.

Oh good God. Orgeron didn't deserve a first season. What a train wreck. Ed never proved capable of beating anything consistently except his next-door-neighbor.

Apparently Rich Rodriguez would be interested in the Ole Miss job. The Commercial-Appeal asked him about it recently.

I'm sure Ole Miss fans would love that in his last game DickRod got thrashed by Mississippi State, 52-14.

I could actually see him doing well there.

Being instant gratification-oriented does not work well, across the board, with sports hires.
Ed recruited well and might have done well as a coach had he been given time to adjust to all the rigors of being in the head position.
I feel like he got jobbed by the decision-makers there without a chance to prove himself.
Ed was always approachable and down-to-earth to deal with, by all accounts I heard.
He'd never been a head coach and was breaking in within the best football conference in America.
That's two of my cents right there.

Speaking of Rich Rodriguez, add Tulane to the list of schools looking for a coach. Bob Toledo resigned a few weeks ago.

  11. My brain just conflated two thread titles - so I thought I was clicking on the Houston Nutt Kidnapped thread. Nevermind.

If Ole Pitt doesn't hire Orgeron, we never get this.

    or this
