How did your paper play the David Beckham signing

    I enjoyed the ESPN poll asking how much people really care. 60 percent didn't care at all.
     
  2. This is interesting. On the thread yesterday, some were comparing this (crazily) to the Gretzky trade to L.A.

    And now we see several papers didn't even think it was worthy of the sports cover.

    I despise soccer, but I still think it should have been on the front of most papers. For those that didn't put it on the front, were you all local or did you have other wire stuff out there?

    We were all local on the cover, and we did a picture tease at the top of the page to Becks.

    We just did a front cover with a mugshot, but the rival did a front page with a bigger picture, not the centerpiece, and they also had a piece of Fro Adu as an under-the-fold feature. Both stories jumped to the back page with color, and were very nicely done, including an infobox on Beckham and where his salary was likely to come from.
