    He pops up in some stories from the Library of Congress's Chronicling America: Search Results « Chronicling America « Library of Congress

    If you know anyone affiliated with a university, perhaps you can piggyback off their library account and grab access to the ProQuest's black newspaper database.

    Newspapers.com is an invaluable resource and has African-American newspapers of the day.

    I'm facing a similar situation in looking to write about a hometown guy in the entertainment business who died in the 1970s. There's great advice here. Thanks, y'all.
