How do you feel about Candace Parker's C-cup being referenced in this lede?

    My thoughts exactly.

Yet another reason they should not have been mentioned in the lede.

"Hating" used in that context? Hate it.

I don't have a problem with the C cups being mentioned in the lede. Didn't bother me at all. I don't think it helps or hurts the story. It's just there. I read it and moved on.

So you're saying only Glock would think that's a good lede/story? Awesome.

Not necessarily. It's a long-standing SportsJournalists.com conceit. "Thanks for stopping by, person who is being talked about here."

    A tired one.

We have too many of those to count.

  10. Patrick and Kornikova, unlike Parker, Finch and Hamm, needed the marketing. The latter three were/are stars on ability. The looks were just a bonus. Patrick and Kornikova are good athletes -- who, you know ain't won shit -- who are better marketed because of their looks. Nowhere close the level of Hamm, Parker or Finch, who stood out in their resepctive sports.

    I consider it simply "tradition."

It's not edgy. It's just a writer's way of waving the arms and screaming, "Hey, look at me."

And anybody who uses "hating" in an argument has no actual point.
