It had its moments, but it wasn't very good. Especially since I was comparing it in my mind to previous slap episodes.

I'm just going to forget I ever saw that episode.

I enjoyed it. I'm a dork samurai and Kung fu movie fan. It wasn't a classic, but I don't get the negativity. Surely you guys can't be upset that we're not moving fast enough. If that's your gripe, why have you watched this season?

    Meh.

Marshall said that was slap four, with one more to go. But in the musical montage, I counted six previous slaps. I didn't realize there were that many non-bet slaps.

It was Slap No. 4 of the original five, but Barnie had opted to turn one slap into three to remove the duckie tie.

As my wife always points out, as shows progress, the writers seem to take stupid pills and pass them along in the scripts, and that starts to kill off the show. "Mike and Molly" was a decent, funny show. Molly was sensitive and caring. Now they're making her stupid. Saw it in "Rules of Engagement," they made the Oliver Hudson character stupid. Either that or the inevitable food fight.
Last night's show was stupid. Expected much more.

Characters becoming caricatures of themselves is definitely a potential hazard for sitcoms as they age. At times, the writers are guilty of that with Barney's immaturity. The character has always been a little over the top, and that makes some sense when you remember this is all supposed to be Ted telling stories, but sometimes it gets to be a bit much.

Monica on "Friends" is the all-time Number One example of this.

it wasn't funny and it clearly thought it was very funny. i think that's the main gripe.

    "Cosmo" Kramer has a stake.
