Of Ted's girls, Victoria has always been my favorite, so I wouldn't have hated the choice. It would have been interesting to see how they addressed the whole Victoria-hates-Aunt-Robin thing though.

It wasn't just hate. It was knowing that Ted wasn't over Robin and a belief that they could never really be together as long as Robin was in his life.

I didn't want them to reveal Barney's job, but the way they did it was amazing.

I liked the episode. We figured out Barney's job, we got to see Barney wearing a wedding ring in the flash forward, we got some scenes with the Mother and we got to hear the name of Ted's kids (Penny?). Didn't love the Lily stuff, but beggars can't be choosers.

Side note: Every time that I see a new episode, I feel like I need to go to the gym. How much weight has Jason Segel lost?

  7. Better than most of the eps from this season though that's not a high bar. Pretty good stuff in this one for the most part.

So Barney's whole persona was a lie? He became a suit-wearing bro simply as an act of revenge?

Sounded more like that was his original intent, but he got caught up in the life.

I also thought it would have been better to leave his job a mystery. I don't mind where they took the story, but I think they've backed off a bit too much from the character being selfish and amoral. Nothing wrong with having him grow up, but now it's suggesting he wasn't nearly the dirtbag we thought he was all along.

Didn't we know this in the episode where he cuts his hair and puts the suit on?

I want to know where Lily went at the end. I can't decide whether Ranjit picked her up or Scooter.

I was assuming Ranjit. If she called Scooter to come get her under those circumstances, that is going way too far.

It was an interesting twist, to show that Marshall's faith in their relationship never fully recovered from her leaving him even after all this time.

I'm guessing the mom picked Lily up. No logical reason for her to call someone she just met on a train, but I'm still guessing it was her.
