How he finally met the mother (Season 9)

For the many complaints about the show early this season (those complaints weren't mine, I have rather enjoyed it), they have certainly set up an ending month that rivals the anticipation of any sitcom I can recall, at least. Seems like the rest were just wheezing toward the end, but this storyline and format was perfect for a strong finish.

 

What about something like the Mother is in getting some sort of medical test or surgery that is life and death and Ted is telling the kids in the hospital waiting room? That gives them cover to set up a possibly sad ending (and the scene at Farhampton in 2030) but things end up being clear.

 

They are having the talk in the house Ted bought on a whim.

 

I don't think anticipated always equates with strong. The premise of the show made certain that the finale/reveal would be hotly anticipated as soon as it lasted more than a season.

I do think the second half of the season has been much much better than the first.

 

What if it's all a dream and Bob Newhart wakes up min bed with Suzanne Pleshette?

 

or it's all a dream and Jason Segal wakes up in bed with Linda Cardellini
or it's all a dream and Allyson Hannigan wakes up in bed with Amber Benson

 

Mmmm, Linda Cardellini. She's looking good on New Girl.

 

That'd be quite gross since Suzanne has been dead for six years.

 

Sounds like another "Weekend at Barney's" moment, if you ask me.

This season is wonderful.

 

I must have missed something. I thought they weren't going to Italy.
