Your need to defend that show and its creators truly knows no bounds.

Conclusions matter. This is a show that was built upon heading to a certain destination. They got off to an amazing start and even when the show faltered near the end, it still had some great moments. But they failed to nail the landing. They failed badly enough that I will never invest my time in anything they do again. They proved that they do not deserve my trust.

And you are wrong. I was always open to just enjoying the ride, but they made that difficult in the final seasons. I admit I only stuck with it long enough to enjoy the rare moments when the show regained some of its former glory because I wanted to see the end.

I disagree with the notion that the creators somehow failed.

I enjoyed the series more than the finale but it was more because the show had been such a habit. As an aside, I'll admit to a little disappointment not to see the show on the DVR schedule for Monday night.

Sure, I grew frustrated with the pacing but that wasn't the creators fault, they were given marching orders y the network to drag it on.

The showrunners always made bold choices and went unconventional very often.

It was an incredibly ballsy choice to kill the mother off. It still blows my mind a little bit when I think about what they did.

Nothing ballsy about it. The series was ending either way and their execution of the story was shit. They wasted so much time pissing around the final two seasons, then rushed through the end of Robin and Barney's marriage and Ted's relationship with the mother. VERY poor execution. They were too stubborn in sticking to their initial premise and it hurt the storytelling.

I dare someone, ANYONE, on this thread or in the world to explain to me how the creators felt they had to rush YEARS of Ted's life in that finale because they "didn't have enough time to wrap it up the way everyone wanted" yet found enough time to do an entire f**king episode where the basic premise was "I bet we can rhyme an entire episode."
F**k these guys. I'd rather see Ray Rice given another chance to work in his industry before these assholes.

What, you were worried the cursing would offend someone?

I try to avoid cursing in case someone is reading this at work and those words could stand out if someone walks by their computer. The other comment was just me being a jackass. :)

    Not likely. Not enough viewers.

While you're right, the people likely to discuss such a specific yet broad TV statement probably did watch it. (It's very popular on Netflix, so ratings aren't a good barometer.)
