How he finally met the mother (Season 9)

I cut off my DVR before them usually but caught this one for some reason. I'll be sure not to make that mistake again. It could be a misdirection, though

 

What did Barney say to cause Ted to drop the drink he was carrying? I was on the phone at work during that scene and didn't hear it.

 

He said he saw Ted and Robin at the carousel.

 

Could it have been a "flash forward" to a year later?

 

I know... It's not like anyone thinks Barney and Ted aren't going to ever talk again, but there was the possibility that they might not be mad at each other for a few episodes...

 

What happened at the carousel? I have no memory of this and I don't know what season/episode to even begin looking it up.

 

It was last season when Ted is helping Robin find the locket. I think there was a moment where they held hands and shared a gaze for a short bit. It's the only thing I can think of.

 

Is that when it was pouring rain?

 

It was. They do love to have pouring rain for the big moments, don't they?
