Went from 3.63 yesterday morning, to 3.79 yesterday afternoon to 3.89 this morning at the same store. It makes me want to shoot someone in the face.

Thursday was a landmark day here. Sigh....
The Shell on the corner, which I pass 2-4-6-8 times a day, had been at $3.95 (regular) for about a week and was there when I went to work at 3:30. When I came home at 1 a.m., it was at $4.05. Finally cracked the $4.00 barrier. Very sad.

$3.79 here today. Took me $44.50 to fill up my Mazda 3.

And all this supply and demand stuff is pissing me off, too. If we'd have gotten to $4 over the span of five years, eh, maybe. Heard on the news today we've gone up 90 cents since February. Short of a giant sucking sound coming out of the wells, like when you try to get the last bits out of a drink, there is no supply and demand that should shoot the price up that much, that fast. BOHICA, baby.

4.15 at the getty station a 1/2 mile away. for the first time in her life, mrs. shockey drove to a self-serve station and pumped her own gas for 3.98 a gallon instead.

when prices drive mrs. shockey to pump herself, it's a dire situation, indeed. ;) ;) ;)

  7. Does anyone besides me think that gas is going to plummet around September/October ... right before election time?

Or am I alone in that conspiracy? Right before election time in 2006 gas fell below $2. Then it shot right back up late November/early December.

Did you post that before or was it someone else? I swear I've read that before now.

They may not even bother with it this time. The GOP knows it's gonna be an even bigger congressional bloodbath than 2006 was, whether gas is $4 or $1.50 by November.

  10. I'm sure I've mentioned it before ... probably in this thread, but I can't remember to be honest. Just wanted to get some feedback on that theory.

I wouldn't doubt it being dropped a bit. If that's what it takes, so be it.
