How much did you pay for gas today?

Highest I've seen so far is $3.89.

 

On the road this morning, I saw your $3.89 and filled it up.

It's hitting $4.12 at home.

 

I got $3.81 this afternoon.

 

$3.939

Preposterous.

 

$4.14 and $3.99.

 

$4-oh-fucking-9.

 

$3.89 today.

 

Haven't had a big jump of more than a penny or two in about a week. Let's hope it's finally leveling off.

Still haven't paid $4, although

Neither have I -- $3.90 at Costco this morning.

I'm wondering how long I can make that claim, especially driving 130 miles round trip every day.

The comical thing about this is the gas that's in the tanks right now is gas bought when oil was $120ish, perhaps even $115. But the moment the spot market announces a price spike in light, sweet crude, you see it at the pump.

 

That Chevron by my work that straddled the $3.99 line for a while?

It's back at $3.99, but only if you pay cash. It's up to $4.06 with a card.

Until today, they didn't have a split-screen sign for cash/credit on the side of the road. Today, they do.

But I'm sure that $3.99 looks a lot better than a whole bunch of 4s down the line. (Of course, diesel at that place is at $5.20. Which doesn't look good at all.)

Sam's was $3.74 today and it was $56 to fill it up.
