There's a tropical storm in the Western hemisphere. That means, by oil speculator logic, that all production in the Gulf will grind to a halt for the next six months, so let's raise the cost of a barrel another $10 on Monday.

 

$3.83 here. Jumped to $3.89 Wednesday, then the Wal-Mart station cut its price back, so everyone else followed.

There are two chain stations in town that really set the price for everyone else. When they go up, everyone follows.

 

I paid $3.95 Thursday. I really hope that the people responcible for these ridiculous prices are murdered in their sleep as their children watch.
