Saw 3.29 halfway home from work, a mile from the house, it was 3.67.
    I hate this state

I needed a little more gas to get to work, so bought $20 at 3.68 in NW Alabama.

In our lovely hamlet in NE Mississippi, it's 2.98, maybe less. That, I do not get.

Part of the reason for the range in price is that low-volume stores are still selling higher priced oil. They haven't been able to buy the cheaper oil because they still have the old stuff.
Distance to the distributorship is another factor. The farther away, the more you pay.
Another reason is that some store owners are just greedy and trying to squeeze out just a little more money. Gas isn't what people consider a high margin product, but by keeping the price at about the same level as before the drop, the stores can make a little more.

That being said, I have no rational explanation for a couple spots in my town. One place, a Wal-Mart SuperCenter has gas at $2.92. Down the street, it is $3.67 at one store.
Most of the places around are in the $3.30 range.

And oil has plummeted on the market. Now if only prices at the pump would follow suit ...

Saw it at $3.17 this morning near the house, down six cents from the same time yesterday. As much as I used to dread driving past the signs and seeing them jacked up 5 or 10 cents a day, I gotta admit I get a little giddy when I see them dropping the same way.

Oh, and in the ass-raping town I work in, it was $3.47. Further south, one town had it at $2.85 and another was $3.79.
    Hell if I know.

In a 60-mile range of the interstate here I've seen it as high as 3.49 and as low as 2.99 today.
