Co-worker coming back from Tunica, Miss., claims to have paid $1.96/gallon Thursday morning. He wasn't sure what town he was in, though.

Sorry, but gas will be on the way back up by then, you know. November 15 is the day it starts creeping back up give or take -- election day plus a few more so it doesn't look too obvious. Sooner if the donkeys grab control of the house, later if its the elephants. But it will be 25-40 cents higher by Thanksgiving weekend than it was on the first Monday of the month.

You have any statistics to back that up?

In a place where I got a discount for being a frequent shopper at a grocery store, so the $1.84 price is slightly skewed.

OK, zoom out from the maps.google.com a minute... which part of the country, part of the state, part of which city? Lil' less specific than the grocery store, brother

    $1.99 at the Worldwide Leader.

And I'm calling bullshit on the $1.84.

Down to $1.99 in Henderson, Ky.

Across the river here in Evansville, a couple pennies higher.
