That was Friday when I drove past after midnight.

Saturday, when I drove past after midnight, $4.25.
So what happened on a Saturday afternoon to cause this? Do the speculators work on weekends?

Mike Taibbi is reporting on gas prices today on MSNBC. He's doing his standup from the gas station closest to my house where the price is now $4.599 per gallon.

The Shell station at the corner has been stuck on $4.239 for about a week.

$4.09... at Costco. Waited 15 minutes to do so and felt like it was 1975 all over again.

This is getting fucking absurd. The prices I'm seeing are just as high as the highest points in the summer of '08.

Well, you can't say "fuck" on MSNBC, so Mike might have been more appropriate.

Today in Alberta it was $1.179 per litre, or the equivalent of US$4.679 per gallon. On days like today I'm glad I have a two-minute commute.
