How much did you pay for gas today?

Was meaning to resurrect this thread for a couple days now, and kept forgetting to do it. I damn near shed a tear on Thursday when I saw $2.99. First time in probably six months it's been under $3.00, and it's dropped 60-70 cents in the past six weeks.
I bought gas on Saturday and it was down to $2.98 at the cheaper station, and around $3.01 at most of the others nearby.

When I moved to NW Arkansas last summer, gas got up to $3.81, but got down to $3.04 in the fall/winter. When I moved a week ago, it was $3.29. Now living in Northern Colorado again, it varies from $3.51 to $3.79 for unleaded in the same town ... some locations within a mile of each other. Paid for the lesser today. Half my tank for $23.

I still remember the story we did at the TV station I worked at when gas hit $2.22 a gallon.
The gas station ran out of 2s for the board outside and they had to use upside-down 5s to fill the gaps.
I seem to remember that leading the charge into video-board or LCD signs since then they just had to a punch a few buttons and not order new numbers that they didn't have in storage.
That was almost 8 years ago! Yikes!

Yes, because it only takes a day or two to go from the ground to your tank.

Paid $3.069 on Sunday in Northeast Mississippi.

On May 1 oil was at 106 dollars. A week later it was down 10 bucks.

Since June 1, gas is down eight cents. I'm sorry but that BS.

Transportation time doesn't seem to stop the price from shooting up 10 cents in an afternoon when oil goes up $10 a barrel.
This go-round has been a bit odd, though. Other places don't seem to be seeing the same steep price drops as I've seen in Mississippi. The prices here HAVE dropped as much as 10-15 cents in a single day, including last week. Strange that other parts of the country aren't experiencing that.

Oil should bottom out at $80 per barrel at most, because that's the lowest price Russia can withstand without going broke. A broke Russia can go one of two ways, as we saw each in the last century, so needless to say stability there is important.

When it gets below $80, I'd expect mechanisms to kick in to dial down the spigot. WTI is down today below $83 so far, and Brent is at about $98.
