Interesting story in my hometown of Marquette, Mich. (apologies if this got brought up before and I missed it):
Gas prices in Marquette are almost always the highest in the state. There are a few Indian-run gas stations in the U.P. that are always 10-15 cents less and in turn, it makes the gas stations around them stay lower also.
The tribe wants to put a station in Marquette and they have been granted a chance to do so.
Of course, local gas station owners don't want this to happen.
    Then, this is said:
"You're supporting these Indians. They're thieves, they're convicted felons and they're tax evaders."
It was made by VP Krist Atanasoff of Citgo Gas stations during a conference call that had reporters on it. As soon as he was told that reporters were listening, he stopped the call and hung up.
The local newspaper ran the quote and it's causing quite a stir. After this ran, the paper was pulled from all Citgo stations owned by Krist Gas.
Now a facebook page has been set up (not sure by who, but they are keeping good tabs): https://www.facebook.com/AvoidCitgoGasInUP

  2. $3.26 at local Shell
    $3.25 at Non-descript gas station

Haven't bought in a couple weeks though. The joy of living 3-4 miles from work.

It's dropped to 3.25 at some stations around here. A lady my mom used to work with is manager of a Speedway in the town I work, and said gas will be under $3 very soon.

    About $3.22 here now.
I live in an area with Winn Dixie grocery stores, and their Fuel Perks card is awesome. And since it is the grocery most convenient for me I pile up the points. With all the bonus buys and such, I actually saved $0.85 a gallon for a recent fill-up, so I paid about $2.50 a gallon.
I prefer Publix overall, but hat is damn tough to beat.
