Up 35 cents a gallon in the last 2-3 weeks. Guess they will trot out the usual excuses like they're converting over to "summer blend" for the third time this year, or there's another refinery off-line for about the fourth or fifth time this year ... or more likely, typical price gouging.

Good thing we're producing more gas domestically than ever before.

Prices up from 3.60 to 4.30 in about 10 days here.

Another gleaming example of Oil Company Cockslurpery from the Tribune. Swallow, swallow, swallow.

Funny how gas this high six years ago was the president's fault and now it's the oil companies' fault.

It was the oil companies' fault back then and it's the oil companies' fault now. Neither president is doing (or did) much of a damn thing about it.

I thought two years ago it was the president's fault? Didn't silly sara, gingrich and all the other tea baggers tell us gas would be $2.50 a gallon or less if we just let them drill! drill! drill!

Now domestic production is at an all-time high and the price is still rising, in part because all those oil companies who must drill! drill! drill! to protect us from having to import foreign oil are exporting record amounts of domestic oil products to China, India and Japan.

And in the meantime the price goes up 40 cents a gallon every time a refinery or pipeline that provides about .01% of the regional gas supply goes offline for a couple days.

Our oil and gas supply system is so easy to game, it's not even funny. Just watch "The Smartest Guys in the Room" and you'll get an idea.

And I'm still pissed that no President of late has done anything about our continued inability to divide by zero.

If it were that easy, you'd think the big boys (Exxon, BP, ConocoPhillips, etc.) would have been more profitable*, wouldn't you? Or maybe, just maybe, it ain't quite so easy.

*Their return on equity's been in the 10% range.

Only one president in the history of this country has ever promised to make energy costs "skyrocket."

He's also punishing the Sooner State right now for two landslide elections against them...$4 a gallon gas in the oil belt.

Paid $3.38 in a town about 35 minutes from where I work. Got back into town and gas is still $3.59 here.
