I unearth this thread with the news that West Texas Intermediate has cratered to $85 a barrel, a 22-month low. Suck it, Saudis.

We've been dipping low around here lately. I got mine for 2.98, but saw it dropped to 2.95 (and with my Kroger card, it would be 3 cents cheaper than that).

After it got as high as $3.89 in the summer, it's down to $3.17 by my house and still going down. When it goes down as it has the past couple months, I only fill up a half-tank at the most because I know the price is going to be lower in a couple of days. I also am following that strategy nowadays because my car has 318,000 miles on it and might die before it burns a full tank.

Last week, with oil futures at a 12-month low (I know, one has nothing to do with the other), the price goes up 15 cents overnight, then it falls by a penny or two every single day for a week, and now we're at $3.15 in central Florida. We'll probably be buying a new car soon and I can't wait to get another 10 miles a gallon.

$3.12 in my part of Northern Virginia, but I saw $2.99 about 20 minutes away (toward the country) last weekend. That'd be a savings of about $40/year for me.

Was 3.12 near Baltimore when I left a week ago.

$2.99.9, the lowest it has been in at least six months — maybe a year.

$2.76 with my Kroger points. Would have been $2.96.

My grocery points begin expiring before I even get more than 10 cents/gallon of savings .
