It was up to $2.36 45 miles northeast of Richmond, VA earlier this week but now there's a station here with a low of $2.09

Crude down to $44 a barrel on Friday. If it keeps dropping like that we'll be paying $3.50 a gallon by summer, since apparently now the cost of gas isn't related to the price of crude, at least on the West Coast.

It's coming down again here. I saw gas for $2.08 yesterday after reaching $2.29 a couple weeks ago.

So true. Here in the western suburbs of Chicago, gas was $2.329 on Saturday. This afternoon it jumped 27 cents to $2.599 a gallon. Bastards.

For real. Last time it was this low, a few months ago, gas was $1.69 here. This wknd it jumped to $2.39. Makes no sense. Money grab by gas stations i think.

$2.45 just south of DC (Alexandria). Like everyone else noted, prices have jumped significantly over the past month or two.

Oil prices reach 6-year low: Oil prices sink to fresh six-year low around $42 a barrel - MarketWatch

Gas prices... not so much. It was $2.29 driving into work this morning. Two months ago, when gas prices got so low, we reached as low as $1.69, while obviously oil prices weren't as low as they are now. We should be looking at gas prices in the $1.49 range.

Nobody will ever be able to convince me that gas station owners are hurting. When gas prices eventually rise again and hit $4, and people are stealing gas, and gas station owners are crying - I will remember this and laugh.

The reason oil is backing up in storage tanks is because the refineries are putting the squeeze on. And we're letting them.

On the same day I posted that oil prices hit a 16-year low, prices here rose about 7% from $2.29 to $2.49.

Price gouging, no other explanation. Would be interesting if the local media pursued this.

The damn oil companies have struck again here in the western suburbs of Chicago. Last night gas was $2.439 a gallon. This afternoon it's $2.799 a gallon. After jumping prices earlier in the week it's now a FIFTY CENT increase per gallon in less than a week.

They're using the same old BS excuse each spring of 'shortages and refineries adjusting from winter blend to summer blend of fuels':

Gas prices expected to spike over the next week in Chicago, suburbs | Chicago
