    $1.97

Hope it's still at that price when I stop to fill up on the way home.

Eight or nine days ago, it was $2.399 pretty much across the board. Today you can find it as cheap as $2.279.

$1.96 ... literally slammed on the breaks and pulled in when I saw the sign.

Down to $1.97 at the gas station next to our newsroom. Damn right I filled up. (It's $2.23 in my town.)

I saw 1.70 in Tulsa on the news. Too bad the power was out and you couldn't actually get it in your tank, but when they're not under a heavy blanket of icy death, they're set for gas.

The gas station next to my place is usually 2.20 to 2.30. Today, it was at 1.99. Needless to say, I topped off the tank and started pooring gas for tomorrow into empty coke cans (that's still legal, right?)

Assuming you don't put them back in the gas station's cooler, I don't see why not.
